Malawi
Malawi, "the warm heart of Africa" is a small country with a diverse eco-systems, beautiful scenery, a variety of wildlife and an interesting culture.
Geographically the country is dominated by Lake Malawi, the third largest freshwater lake in Africa, a trough 360 miles long and 50 miles wide formed where the western arm of the Great Rift Valley cuts into southern Africa.

Lake Malawi
Lake Malawi with its crystal clear waters surrounded by mountains has one of the greatest selections of freshwater fish in the world (between 600 and 1,000 species of which 350 are endemic).
Scuba and snorkeling are excellent, there are good sandy beaches and many activities including water sports, nature walks and drives and visits to local villages.

Liwonde National Park
Liwonde National Park situated on the banks of the Shire River offers fine wildlife viewing in a lovely tropical setting. Its proximity to Lake Malawi and makes it Malawi's favorite national park.
Mvuu Wilderness Lodge
Is situated on the banks of the Shire River, an hour or so south of Lake Malawi and is run in partnership with Malawi National Parks.
The park teems with big game such as elephant, hippo, leopard, sable, hartebeest and black rhino.
The ecosystems vary from the fast flowing river to dense riverine forest to woodlands to open savannas and mountains.
It is one of the best birding spots in Central Africa.
Activities include day and night game drives, walking, birding and boat safaris.
