Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater with its small area of 102 square miles of
grasslands, streams, swampland, lakes, forests, hills and steep slopes
is home to some 30,000 animals. There are splendid views from the
Crater rim down to the floor some five hundred meters below. Access is
by 4 wheel drive vehicle only.
Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

Perched on the southwest rim of the crater above the swirling mists, is
an architectural masterpiece. Inspired by the Masai manyatta, the lodge
encompasses three separate camps of six to twelve suites each. The
eclectic decor includes thatched roofs, crystal chandeliers, velvet
drapery and African art. There is a personal butler for every pair of
rooms ensuring extraordinary service. Each room has its own
breathtaking view of the crater! Staying at the Ngorongoro Crater lodge
is pure "rustic decadence".
The Sopa Lodge
Spread out along the uppermost rim of the crater, offers breathtaking
views. It is a first class lodge with spacious rooms, lounge with
fireplace, and a pool perched on the rim. It has the advantage of
having the shortest drive down into the crater.
The Ngorongoro Serena Lodge
Is beautifully camouflaged by ivy-covered native stone. The 75 rooms
and all public areas look out to the crater from private terraces.
Activities include daily game, excursions to the Olduvai Gorge, Masai
cultural events and slide shows.
