ITINERARY
Day 1
Arrive Arusha (via Nairobi or Mt. Kilimanjaro International) Transfer to hotel for lunch, dinner, overnight (depending on arrival) Meet and greet safari briefing upon arrival at the lodge or the following morning prior to departure for Tarangire.
Day 2
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park. During the dry season from July to November, animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. You'll have a spectacular view from your hotel where often elephants come to graze. Lunch and overnight at Sopa Lodge.
Day 3
Game drive out of Tarangire with a picnic lunch and stop at Lake Manyara National Park. If lucky, we may see the Manyara lions, known for their tree climbing habits. Elephants, hippos, giraffe, buffalo and other plains animals are present at Manyara. You'll also see the famous jungle where early Tarzan movies were filmed. Birdlife in Manyara is also very impressive. Picnic lunch in the park and overnight at Plantation or Gibbs Farm located in Karatu.
Day 4
After breakfast we proceed to Serengeti, stopping along the way to visit Olduvai Gorge. We game drive into the park, possibly with a picnic lunch to enjoy along the way. Dinner and overnight at Serena or Sopa.
Day 5 and 6
After breakfast, we have morning and afternoon game drives. As well as an opportunity to take the hot air balloon ride over the plains at dawn, followed by a champagne English-style breakfast served in the bush. (Additional cost)
Day 7
Today we game drive out of Serengeti, visit a Maasai Tribe and village, then with a picnic lunch, we proceed into the Ngorongoro Crater for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Serena or Sopa.
Day 8
Today we spend the entire day (with picnic lunch) in the Crater. Dinner and overnight at Plantation Lodge.
Day 9
After breakfast we'll transfer back to Arusha, stopping for lunch along the way, then proceed to your lodge for an afternoon of relaxation or shopping in Arusha. Overnight at Moivaro Coffee Plantation or Arumeru Lodge.
Day 10
Today we visit Arusha National Park with a picnic lunch. Walks and hiking are available as well. Dinner and overnight at Moivaro Coffee Plantation or Arumeru River Lodge.
Day 11
Transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight out.
