The South Luangwa National Park is one of the best in Africa with prolific game and birds. Thornicroft giraffe are indigenous to the park and Cookson's wildebeest unique to Luangwa. Leopard are most common between July and October. The area is noted for its excellent night drives and its walking safaris.
