ITINERARY
DAY 1
Today is your arrival into Tanzania, one of the finest wildlife viewing areas in the world. After clearing customs and immigration procedures, our local representative will greet you, see you to your transfer, and assist you with check-in at Mount Village Lodge. The lodge is an elegant property located along the shore of Lake Duluti and set amid a coffee plantation. Accommodation is in individual rondavel cottages among garden areas bursting with flowering bougainvillea. Overnight Mt. Village Lodge - meals as required based on arrival time
DAY 2
After breakfast it's off on safari as you and your private driver/guide depart for Lake Manyara National Park and your first game drive. A picnic lunch will accompany you. While one of the smaller of Tanzania's National Parks, Lake Manyara is also one of the most diverse, boasting five different eco-systems. The lake itself, a soda lake, comprises two-thirds of the park. Manyara is also known for its famous tree-climbing lions. At the end of your game drive, you'll travel up the Rift Valley Escarpment Wall and travel to the Eastern rim of the Ngorongoro Crater for overnight. Overnight Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge - all meals
DAY 3
This morning you'll want to depart early for your day down on the Crater floor, allowing you to take the fullest advantage of your game drive time. The Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as the "Garden of Eden" and contains the largest concentration of wildlife to be found on the African Continent. It's also one of the few remaining areas in Tanzania where you might encounter the endangered black rhino in its natural habitat. You'll depart the Crater via the exit road - an adventurous experience itself, and return to your lodge in time to freshen up before dinner. Overnight Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge - all meals
DAY 4 and 5
Today you'll travel into the world famous Serengeti National Park. The entire day will be a game drive as you travel out to the Western Corridor, passing through and into The Great Migration herds. Each day in the Serengeti you'll have morning and afternoon game drives, returning to your lodge for lunch and a rest between. Overnights Mbalageti Tented Chalets - all meals
DAY 6 and 7
To make the most of your Serengeti experience you'll spend the next two days and nights in the Central Area. This gives you the opportunity to see the different terrain within the largest of Tanzania's National Parks. From the short grass plains (where Serengeti got its name) to the giant outcrops of granite rock called kopjes, this is a spectacular game viewing area and not to be missed. Overnights Mbuzi Mawe Tented Lodge - all meals
DAY 8
Today you will depart the Serengeti with a picnic lunch to enjoy in the bush as you travel south, game driving through the Serengeti and Conservation area to the village of Karatu. Here you will stay at a working farm - and have the opportunity to explore this beautiful agricultural area. Overnight Ngorongoro Farm House - all meals
