Tarangire
Travel to Tanzania with ATD
Between June and November, when the surrounding plains are drying out, thousands of animals wander to Tarangire, attracted by its permanent river. This park has excellent wildlife viewing and is one of the best parks in Tanzania to see elephants. Although only two hours from Arusha, Tarangire is not as frequently visited as the other northern parks. The landscape is unique with the large numbers of the giant baobab trees and umbrella acacia trees.

Kikoti Camp

Is situated among a long stretch of "kopjes", ancient boulders commanding views of epic proportions. To the North, the Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Highlands rise above Lake Manyara. To the East are the Simanjiro Plains, calving grounds for the wildebeest herds. Immediately to the West is Tarangire National Park. Accommodation is in large twin bedded tents with ensuite facilities. Activities include walks, day and night game drives and excursions to see rock paintings. There are hides near water holes for wildlife viewing.
