ITINERARY DETAILS

Days 1 – 3:     Moremi Game Reserve or The Plains of the Okavango region

Start your journey with three nights in the famous Moremi Game Reserve or in a private concession (fewer restrictions!) on the edges of the Okavango Delta. Here, where the waters of the Okavango River, flowing down from the mountains of Angola, hit the Kalahari desert ecosystem and fan out into one of the world’s few inland deltas, large herds of plains game congregate and the big cats and smaller predators of Africa are right behind them.

Morning and afternoon game drives bring you to the heart of the action. Your expert guide knows his “neighborhood” inside and out and will introduce you to myriad animal and bird species, the trees and plants of the region, its geology, history, climate, and much more!

Days 4-5:     Heart of the Okavango Delta

Experience the supreme calm and quiet of a mokoro trip through the papyrus swamps with a highly experienced poler doing all the work. Look for stunning water lilies, tiny reed frogs, spectacular birdlife and, around that next corner perhaps one of the Delta’s larger residents coming to the water to drink.  Elephants and hippos have the right of way! Small motor boats offer a stable platform for an afternoon of fishing or an afternoon excursion to a more distant island.

Days 6-7:     Linyanti/Chobe Region

Your final safari stop will be the private 125 000-hectare Linyanti Wildlife Reserve that borders the famous (but far busier!) Chobe National Park. This region offers incredible habitat diversity – rivers, forests and open plains – making it a haven for wildlife. It is well-known for its elephant concentrations as they congregate along the waterways and lagoons during the dry winter months.

Days 8-9:     Victoria Falls/Livingstone

End your trip with a visit to the magnificent Victoria Falls staying on either the Zimbabwean or Zambian side of the falls. Continue the inclusive safari experience at an intimate private camp outside the towns or start your transition back to reality in a convenient in-town hotel. After visiting the magnificent Falls themselves, fill your days with guided nature walks, rafting, canoeing, bunjee jumping, helicopter or microlight flights and more. A sunset cruise on the Zambezi is the perfect cap to your adventure.
