ITINERARY DETAILS

Days 1-2:     Nairobi

Start your trip by visiting one of Nairobi’s most beloved establishments: Giraffe Manor. While the manor offers its guests a comfortable, peaceful retreat, it’s best known for its iconic long-necked residents. These endangered Rothschild giraffes are often eager to meet their guests, and are known to stick their heads through the manor’s windows for breakfast. The Langate forest that surrounds much of the estate also hosts a wide array of other creatures, including abundant birdlife.

As you enjoy your stay in this beautiful setting, you may choose to add an optional trip to the Nairobi Museum, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, or the Kazuri Beads & Pottery Center.

Days 3-5:     Laikipia Reserve

You’ll continue your adventure by flying to Nanyuki and Solio Lodge, located on the Laikipia Reserve. Nestled in a valley between the dramatic slopes of Mount Kenya and the rolling peaks of the Aberdare Mountains, Solio is praised as one of Kenya’s most luxurious lodges. However, as it’s also situated in the heart of a 19,000-acre private game conservancy, it houses a diverse wildlife population, including leopards, lions, and both black and white rhinos.

Here, you’ll enjoy the lodge’s luxurious accommodations, exceptional views of Mount Kenya, exciting game drives, and exceptional meals. You’ll also have the chance to go cycling, horseback riding, or embarking on bush walks and excursions to Aberdare National Park.

Days 6-8:     Samburu

You’ll continue northeast to the semi-arid Samburu region, where you’ll spend two nights at the elegant Moroccan-style Sasaab lodge. Set on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River (Kenya’s third-largest watercourse), the lodge boasts breathtaking views of the jagged peak of Mount Kenya. With its wild landscape among the proud Samburu tribe, it’s also the only tourist initiative in the area, offering a unique view into the cultural and natural wonders of Kenya.

You’ll spend your time here enjoying a complete safari adventure, including game drives, guided bush walks, camel walks, fly camping, and enlightening trips to the local village.

Days 9-10:     Maasai Mara

You’ll enjoy the “wildest” part of your trip in the famous Maasai Mara Reserve, where you’ll spend a night at Sala’s Camp on the banks of the Sand River. Located in the heart of Maasai Mara, Sala’s Camp offers spectacular views toward the Northern Corridor and Tanzania’s Serengeti. It is also a front-row seat to the first sightings of the iconic great wildebeest migration. Here, you’ll discover the area’s wildlife firsthand on Maasai-guided activities. (And if you want to put your athletic side to the test, we also recommend trying bush volleyball!)

Days 11-13:     Mara Triangle

Your adventure comes to a close with two unforgettable nights at Angama Mara lodge, perched above the edge of the Great Rift Valley overlooking the scenic Mara Triangle. In this stunning location, you’re bound to find that the safari lodge’s glass-fronted tented suites take your breath away.

As you admire these unsurpassed views, you’ll have the chance to enjoy game drives, walks along the escarpment, picnics on the kopje featured in “Out of Africa,” or simply relax by the pool.
